    Wanted: Impossible to find Momo

I realize this is a one in a million shot, but ever since spending some time with Mark Morrisey last weekend I've been obsessed with finding an early Momo LeMans or Elite.

These are the wheels favored by the Tiltons and Lindens of the SWB hotrod world. While my aspirations are not so lofty as to be considered their peer, my own SWB hotrod has bounced from one wheel to the next in a search for the perfect one. Last weekend I finally put a name to them, and now I am on the hunt.

If you have or know of one of these wheels for sale, please shoot me a PM. Perfection, thy name is Momo.

    Thanks,
    Mike

    Lofty (and admirable) aspirations indeed.

And at the risk of hijacking Mike's thread anybody who ends up here, fooled by the thread title, looking to sell a mere 370mm Momo Prototipo in silver please PM me

    Thanks,
    Dirk

    Mike

PM sent. I have a beautiful Personal steering wheel of the same vintage that Morrissey and Tilton have both seen. It's very similar, you might dig it. I need to take some photos. PM me your email.

A Le Mans 350 recently (less than 2 months ago) sold over on AlfaBB.

Joining is free and you may want to make a WTB ad in their classifieds as well as contacting "papiko" there; he seems to have a collection.

If I may be so bold, I think Mike's looking for a large diameter... a 380mm but a 370 would probably work too.

He's interested in silver spokes with the style of a thinner grip and no spoke pads; ie. Monza, Le Mans, Elite... but also in that style would be early Monte Carlo and Formula 1 Enterprises, "1" "Real Wheel"

All of which are pretty difficult to find. Best of luck Mike... I'll keep my eye's peeled.

Mark has hit the nail on the head. I have a few great leads from fellow members who have stepped up to help me find this item.

I'm constantly amazed at the camaraderie in our group. My heartfelt thanks to everyone who has opened their parts stashes to help me find this oh-so personal touch for my car.

I don't know that I've found the wheel I need yet, so please keep an eye out or let me know if you have one you can part with. I have blatantly stolen this image from 'he who cannot be mentioned's' blog:

    Cheers to all,
    Mike

Mike, you have great taste in your wheel choice and it will look fantastic in your car! I was able to keep my old "1" and I'm anxious to eventually put it in my 67S
