    915 Oil Pump gasket question

    In the PET two gasket part numbers are shown for the oil pump cover on the rear of the 915 transaxle. One is .015mm thick and the other is .02mm. Is this used for setting a thrust clearance for the pump gears? If so how is this best measured.

    Thank you,

    adjustment

    They are used to set the end play, which should be .05mm. There is a section in the factory 915 gearbox manual which shows the procedure.

    Thank you Mike/Gled;

    When you check this you have the end/tail cover removed and check it from the "inside", correct? I had purchaed a gasket set and was hoping to order this last gasket from the dealer before tearing into the transaxle. I did read through the 72+ manual and did find a section talking about these gaskets but the main instruction was to measure the old gasket...I did and it did not match either gasket thickness above (due to being compressed?). Is just one gasket used or is it plausable that one would stack them to get the proper endplay?

    Thanks again,

    Andrew

    Stack them, thats why there are two different thickness.
