A 'gauging interest' thread - REAL 911R Schalensitz

Seems to be 'gauging interest' is the now format for determining a collective value.
I have a real 911r Scheel 'rennsitz' 14002 - the one with the grommets in the back.
    near mint condition.
    c/w original sliders and X-bars.
What is the market price please?

Hello Gilbert, did you get any feedback? Could you please post some additional good detailed photos of your 911R bucket?

    Thanks!

...the 'eyelets' are not the same 'gold' color, I couldn't find the source for them in time and I settled for these...

the co-pilot bucket is slightly smaller overall than the 911R, most can't tell them apart unles placed side-by-side. No eyelets installed.

Very nice. Did you replace all the vinyl on the plain seat ? Interested to see the repair to the torn area to the front lower section.

    Thanks

Scheel Co-Pilot Seat, some restoration details and comments...

The Corduroy material was still in very good shape, but very dirty.

Since my original goal was to try and keep the Scheel as original as possible, the original Corduroy came off and was sent directly to the cleaners.

    New backing material installed.

The original restored Corduroy material was sewn in the very same original hand-stitching style.

Without question, it's easier to "start fresh with new" than to try and save the original, always more complicated and often times more expensive.
To my surprise, Tony Garcia of Autobahn Interiors presented me an invoice that was much lower than expected. Their craftsmanship is remarkable.

I'm now having yet another period original 914 Scheel Racing bucket seat restore by them...

This is hard to believe, but the results are nothing short of a miracle!

This is the area of the vinyl that was damaged and needing attention (top left) and I asked Tony to please try and save the material exploriing all repair options.

The photo below shows the end results. Yes, that is the same vinyl material, it was not replaced, but repaired.

If you have any questions about how it was done, feel free to call Tony Garcia (858) 453-2400 and ask him about that. LOL

    Other noticable details...

It's not easy to get these to align perfectly, these do...

This particular 911R seat was recovered with some the OEM corduroy I've had for almost 20 years.

...and I think my post would be incomplete if I don't post a photo of both Scheels propped in the 914-6 GT tub, check it out.
