    door seals, hollow or solid?

I had my car panted and am replacing the door seals. The kind I have currently installed are the hollow "modern" ones that only go half way around (from a pillar, around the top to the front floor). I guess I am supposed to add the felt ones for the bottom half which I have not done. I have since ordered the solid original style ones that go all the way around.

What's the consensus, newer hollow or original solid?

If anyone has a pic of the newer hollow version, that would be greatly appreciated. I have the top half of these installed but can't vision how the bottom half works.

    Thanks,

    Chris

    Chris,

There are three or four types if I recall correctly-- a very early one, a later early one, a revised early one and the hollow one. Original solid of the later type is what you want. The kind I have (the second type) go all the way around as one piece.

I called Stoddard and they are sending the solid ones that go all the way around and taking back the hollow ones I had bought. Not sure what flavor of solid ones but hopefully because they are from Stoddard and are ridiculously expensive they will be the best and correct.

Not sure what you have there, but all the hollow ones I've ever seen go all the way around the door opening. Now there are Targa ones that only go from the bottom of the 'A' pillar, around the bottom opening up to the bottom of the 'B' pillar.
