Thread: Production dates v delivery/registration dates?

    Production dates v delivery/registration dates?

An interesting point about production dates and delivery dates as on the Certificate of Authenticity has come up, and that's if the COA
shows a particular production completion date but no date for the delivery to the selling dealer, how long did it take for the car to
arrive in the US after it was built?

Anyone any paper work such as an original bill of sale perhaps to compere to their build date on the COA?
    cheers, Mike

My 73 911E was built in June 73 (60th from the last one built, and the highest number one delivered to Australia so presumably in the last shipment) and delivered to the first owner in Melbourne, Australia on 10 September 1973.

Seems like that's a good average Mike.

My April built '73 was delivered in here on the West coast of the US in May, and sold in early June.

    You're right Mike,

I do not know the exact date of completion, but giving it all of April, and a port of entry date of May 22, and a sale date of June 13th, that gives a possible turnover from completion, shipping, and sales at Circle Porsche in Long Beach CA. of about 75 days.

    Cheers

Mine follows the pattern too: Built 10/13/67 and delivered in San Diego 2/68.
