    Barrett-Jackson, OC, 21-Jun

Got a chance to get into Barrett-Jackson's OC Auction pre-view, last Thursday, 21-Jun

    Borrowed a camera, shaved . . . found/put on some socks that matched . . . then ran through the pre-view areas . . .

This is a 'prop' that my buddy Dave snagged for his stand . . . a Conley Stinger 609

Oh, heck yeah ---- it runs. (And how. Youtube it . . .)

    ~$8k

    . . . . and back-logged out about a year . . .

Display only. Actually pulled it out of a museum in San Diego . . . promised to guard it w/ our Miserable/Worthless Lives, etc

And absolutely no running of engines --- even itsy-bitsy-teeny-tiny ones --- anywhere inside B-J's tent PERIOD . . . they were most insistent on this point

    And did I mention the thing is really super-charged? As in 8.5 HP's-worth? . . . at 8500 RPM? Check-out Youtube, Russ . . . should see what pops outta those stacks! . . . nuts

(And, considering the alcohol-content of some of the Invited Guests? . . . there coulda been an unfortunate incident if this Little Monster were fired-up in close-quarters . . .)

    Callaway

Super-charged something-or-other. Regular ZR-1's have a clear 'window' to show-off their motor. Callaway? --- hides it . . . sorta. Gulp. I'm actually afraid of what's under there. And does it really matter what he calls these things? Only makes a handful o' cars every year, any more . . . and all of 'em way too scary + expen$ive to actually drive/use/expose to The Public

Looks like an all-new schnozzle. And I like his rear treatment better than Chevy's. Still busy --- fender vents + 'sail-panels' look a touch 'too' . . . but the stock rear-end always looked un-finished to me, so? . . . better. And is it just the end-cap he swapped-out? . . . or do these rear quarter panels look re-contoured, as well?

For the past two years, I've taken my dad to Barrett-Jackson as a Father's Day activity. It's a week after actual Father's Day, but he loves going, so we just celebrate Father's Day a week late....
Here are couple photos from Saturday.
