    '69 Trailing/Swing/Banana Arms - which is correct ??

OK, today I was with my mechanic and he's found I have two different rear swing arms (trailing/banana arms) on my '69 911E race car.

Looking at the photos, the difference is in the last end part of the leg, the conical shaped bit that attaches to the shock.

I suspect one is original and one is not. Question is which is which ??

    Second question , who's got one ??

    Thanks for any help.

    Andrew

    Andrew,

The top one looks like the one I have in my 69

The top one is the correct one for a 69. They moved the shock mount further back in 72ish and also modified the turrets in the cross member to accomodate the top of the shock.

    Kind Regards

    rear arm

If you need one for a 1969, driver side I have one. It also has the factory sway bar knob
I also have the factory tool to check it out.

Thank you everyone, I think that's definite. Top photo is '69 and other is '72ish.

When I was building my car I found that one front strut on the LHS was incorrect and didn't notice the rear difference. I also never knew there was a rear change from '69 to later models.

It would seem that the car must have had an accident along the LHS and both suspension mounts front and rear were damaged and of course the wrong parts were fitted.

Thanks again, what great resource !

    swing arm

Driver side arm, and the factory tool to check it for straightness. $175.00 for the arm.

Has anybody got the factory information to retro fit the sway bar ball pin to the trailing arms? I have the ball pin from porsche and want to fit them to my 1971 911. Has Porsche released these dimensions?

    Thanks,

    Norbert.
