    I wish I had bought it. Painted over is an easy fix.

    Here's one of mine from the mid '60s-

    I love these for their design and quality and have been collecting them awhile. Eye-catching cloisonne and casting detail are what attract me... subject matter is secondary. When the three come together they're irrisistable. Here's a couple on my 356, an enamel badge that was on a 280SE coupe we once owned, one I got for the '67 but haven't installed and two that are just beautiful art.

    Some shots of a few of my grille badges.

    The annual concours allows me to say - now which badges will I fit this year?

    Jens, you wanna see 'em, right? Speaking of which...

    Reed, I can make out the 100,000 K badge on the right but what are the others? Would you post bigger images please?

    Thumbs up

    This bit of erotica was on the grill of the late Barry Williams' speedster....... I believe it was made from a Pirelli belt buckel.

    Who ever has the car now, I sure hope they kept this classy and sexy piece of art on it.....

    Cheers

    Chuck, very cool.... love the repurposing, but those are mighty pricey! Salvador Dali, limited edition, period marketing item.

    Pirelli Buckle by Dali

    On eBay . . .

    . . . . Very rare Pirelli Salvador Dali brass bronze sculptured belt buckle. Number stamped "NR 0369 on face and stamped "Warranted Finest Minted Brass" and Made in Italy on back. Has the original "Pirelli Limited Edition" deep blue clamshell case.
    Like new condition and a good investment. Stored over thirty years and rarely seen on the market. The owner would consider fair offers . . .

    Damage = $1300

    . . . no-no ---- uhhh . . . what I meant to say was $1000 --- yeah-yeah, that's the ticket . . .
