    Mystery steering wheel

I have a spare steering wheel that came with a car that I purchased many years ago. Does anyone know what model this goes to? Does anyone know the value of such a wheel?

    Thank you,

    David

first thought that came to me is it looks British, but then I noticed the finished edging on the spokes and now think it could be Italian or German in origin.
What did it come in ? Was it mounted or loose ?

I've seen a few of these, over the last year or so --- all race-car take-offs . . . zero details, though

    Go to this thread . . .

    http://www.early911sregistry.org/for...talog+steering

    . . . check out post #69, bottom picture

    934 or 935?

And try contacting the poster, Jim Garfield --- maybe he has more details

And any markings or numbers or more info w/ yours? And where'd you get it, from whom, how much, etc, etc, etc . . .

    HtH

PS Looks like it may be missing a padded bit that fits over the hub, too . . .

The wheel was unmounted. This item came with many other parts that were with a 69 E 911 that was an unfinished CA restoration. Stamped VDM in hub. The posting above which mentions #69 looks to be the same wheel.

What exactly is different on this than a standard 3 spoke SC/Carrera wheel?

Just a factory wheel missing parts. '74-'75 Carrera wheels are cool though...

I'm sure it's a SC wheel, just missing the horn pad and the rear pastic cover.

Here's some pictures from an ebay ad

There were 2 different but similar-looking wheels - the standard 3-spoke as used on 74-77 2.7's & the optional 380mm 'sport' version with a thicker rim.

This thicker-rimmed wheel was also used on the 3.0RSR & 934 models so the ebay 'claim' is correct.
