    Dual Zone Master Cylinder

I plan to install a dual zone m/c in my 65. Does anyone have any recommendations? Would any late 70's - early 80's Ate m/c work? Is there a difference between a m/c designed for a car with front disk - rear drum and a four wheel disk setup?

Your car would be a 4 wheel disc brake. A popular option is to use the dual circuit set-up from a '68-.

Use the parts from a 68 including the reservoir and clamp. Will Pringle's kit does not include a divided reservoir. Be sure to put a correct flare on the steel tubes that enter the MC.

Of course you should thoroughly and completely test the installation to be certain the brakes are fully functional before moving the car.

Thanks for all the tips. It's a great list. I used a 68 Beetle m/c when I converted my 59 A coupe to dual zone. It stops well and straight (rare for a 356...) The cylinder fluid capacities for disk brake cars must be different than drum cars. The 356 has 2 cylinders per front wheel and one per rear. I'll take your advice and pick up a 68 911 m/c and start there. It will be sized properly. I used a dual chamber 911 reservoir that I picked up at Roundtop on the 59. I'll do the same on my 65. - Mark
