Not to hijack your thread, but the earliest sunroofs I think came on th second half of the 1965 model year cars.

There is the famous prototype with the sunroof that opened backwards. I think that is the one referred to above.

Yep, and there is one more known.
The 902 proto 13394.
That one has the same style sunroof. They open towards the front of the car instead of backwards.

Does anyone know whether the Coachbuilder Baur / Stuttgart was involved in those?
Baur did some stuff for Porsche (eg. 917 Frames, 911R prototypes, 944 Convertible Prototype...)
Baur did a Prototype of the later BMW 2002 Targa with that type of Sunroof, the so-called "zugfrei" Cabriolet
