    66 SR Coupe 2.0 help

    Hi All, New to 911's.
I am restoring a 66 coupe. Motor being rebuilt. Builder wants to put on 2.2 Pistons & Barrels. The 2.0's are still good but would need new rings.
Is there any problems (advantages/disadvantges) putting on the larger PC's. I have been told by some not to do this as it would change the sound?? Would they just bolt on or is machining
    needed? Thanks in advance

The 84 mm P&C's will fit, but the 2.0L 80 mm heads will need to be machined or you need 84 mm heads as well.

    Hi Bob,

Welcome to the early 911 world!

For those who don't know him he's been in the 356 Registry for decades and has a very sweet 1953 Cab (multiple concours wins) among other cars. Knowing Bob's level of detail, I'm sure this will be a stunning car when finished.
