I have a pair of elephant hide door cards in good condition (dated September and October 1967), the only issue is that the left one is black whilst the right one is red. If of interest I could post some photos (I am in the UK).

The later '68's had basket weave on the dash , allegedly Porsche ran out of elephant hide . I think Carparc's post of a June build '68S with basket weave confirms this .

My US-delivered 1968 911L #11805200 was delivered with basketweave where the COA shows the production date as Feb 15, 1968. I can confirm that the basketweave is original based on photos that my uncle took of this car in 1972 (he bought it in 1972 as the second owner, and I bought it from him in 1992). Here’s one of the pics that I converted from a set of slides that he had:

Hah, great suggestion, it’s now officially on the list

This got me thinking about the evolution of these amazing 911’s from Chester delivering 140 HP in a 2.0 liter air cooled engine in 1968 to SOB cranking out 640 HP in a 3.8 liter Twin Turbo engine 55 years later. Both are an absolute blast to drive and offer a special driving experience in their own ways, and we are all blessed to be part of this community that appreciates and enjoys these special cars!
