    1967/1968 engine lid change

I have an early 1968 911 SWT (11/67 build date) and am curious which engine lid other 68 owners close to that build date have? My vin is 11880056. Thanks in advance, Mark

I have a 68 911S with a 10/67 build date, it has the earlier engine lid with the bar in the center.

Ahhhh the sixties... I envision myself one early Saturday morning wearing plaid shorts, black shoes with white socks smoking a cigarette heading to the hardware store to buy a bag of nails.
SWB cars are an acquired taste however once acquired theirs no turning back.

My 10/67 built 912 has the same lid as Joe's.

my 68 911 normal's engine lid lacks the center bar (go figure) because...

FWIW, Johnson's "Restorer's Guide to Authenticity" lists the change at chassis numbers (no references to build dates)
    11 800 379
    11 805 122
    11 810 290
    11 820 368
    11 830 260
    11 850 118
    11 855 030
    11 860 107
    11 870 093
    11 880 064
    12 820 159
    12 870 337 and
    12 801 832

perhaps my lid was replaced at some point by a PO.
