That looks like it would work. I used the VHT high temp grey from my FLAP and it looks stock.

Jeff, has it held up well? Did you prime first? Thanks, -Scott

I've also used the VHT Very High Temp "Header Paint, Silica Ceramic Coating" in flat aluminum color. I didn't prime and it's held up amazingly well. It looks great but should probably have less aluminum look to it.

Given how well this one worked, I'd consider using just the flat gray primer.

I'm thinking this might get you pretty close to original.

What happened to NLA Limited Exhaust Grey Paint? That was a perfect match.

I had a relatively decent shape Dansk on the car. The paint they put on it originally is pathetic and it all starts coming off like chalk. I stripped it down and then etch prepped the clean metal. Then I shot it with VHT paint in grey, same product line as Kent. I didn't even know they have a primer available and would have shot that as a first coat had I known at the time. It's only been a few months so too soon to tell on durability, bu the color is spot on.

Thanks guys. I think I'll try the VHT Flameproof SP-104. The paint that Dansk uses is a frigging joke!

I've used LPS Cold Galvanize spray and it holds up very well.

Tried them all.....the Stoddard/NLA was good color, but sold by the quart, pricey, and you had to set up a gun and the clean. Both the Whurth and LPS cold galvanizing are close, but come off with any solvent. VHT high temp exhaust is still the best.....should be applied to either etched of blasted bare metal...thry do not recomm end a primer unless it's theirs. As to color....Their grey is a bit dark.....AND if one has access to factory engine assembly area photos from late 60s / early 70s the mufflers have a faint metallic sheen. I go with VHT flat/dull aluminum. After it heat cures it is very durable and you can wipe it down with DX330, etc, and it won't come off.
