    1970S Resto Help

    Hi all,

I am about to embark on a long term rebuild of a 1970S.

It was a German delivered car that made its way to Australia and was given a nasty cut and shut LHD to RHD conversion. It has been long hooded and wears fibreglass flares with a nasty rear body kit.

I need to pick the brains of the educated folks on here so as I try to return the car to its roots correctly.

Can anyone help with the specs and important things to know about a 70S.

    Thanks
    Tim Pritchard

I like that rear end. That bumper appears custom since there is no indentation where the license plate would go. The clean lines make me reconsider the ducktail I have...

Looks like they used 930 Turbo front flares on both the front and rear.

Things I needs to know are specific items for 70s only if there are any. Trim, carpet, body, etc

Your enthusiasm is appreciated but before you do anything you need to find a world class metal bender to clean up the rust.

    Good luck with the project.

Often when people do a lot of metalwork to these cars, they have to replace the door latch panels. The replacement panel that you get for the RH side has the indentation for the oil release door of the '72 cars which is incorrect for pre-72. Dont make that mistake.
