    Upholstery staples help

I'm working on the interior of the car, door pockets, seats etc. The staples used in the door pockets and the door cards and other surfaces where the vinyl is stapled to cardboard have a 1/2" crown and have a 0.125" leg, measured from the inside of the crown cross piece to the tip of the leg...ie. they penetrate 0.124" (1/8 inch).

I can find 1/8" leg staples and I can find 1/2" crown staples, but I can't seem to find both together. Any suggestions or sources ? Trying to do this right, so all help is appreciated. The vinyl plus cardboard is no thinner than 0.16" and the cardboard is no thinner than 0.137", so a 1/8" staple is all one can use without worrying about piercing through.

    thanks
    Ravi

I bought the 1/2" crown ones and filed the legs off while they were still attached in row... easy...

I was considering that, except cutting with shears instead of filing. Can you still use a standard staple gun then ?

Also, what did you do for the clinch staples (the ones that splay outwards in the foam) ?

I went to an upolstery supply shop and bought the proper staple gun and short staples made just for that application.

As Ed said just ask at a local upholstry shop, I walked in with a 6 pack and walked out with two boxes, but in Australia we do work on a beer economy.

Ya think the Canadian economy isn't beer driven, eh ?
Boggles my mind that Google can't find those staples for me though.
