    replacements for switch light rod/tube?

I have a few missing or broken light rods in some switches. I assume there is no source for direct replacements...
Has anyone sourced an optically clear 4mm rod to make replacements?
I have the rubber knobs on my '68, so the fact that the end would not be rounded is not an issue.
    Thanks for the ideas!

I have used this source http://www.mcmaster.com/#standard-plastic-rods/=irv4sm
If you want an exact 4mm chuck larger size piece of rod up in a drill motor use 180 grit sand paper in 10 seconds you will have 4mm.

Site is ROYAL pain to navigate. Click "impact resistant clear/color polycarbonate. Left side first product.

I have no problem with the theory that all men are created equal.
