Nice looking car. Best of luck with the sale.

    Info from the ad:
"numbers matching super nice 1966 911 Price: 50,000.00
All Numbers matching 1966 Porsche 911, completed 4-06-66, vin number 304166. Engine (907354), transmission (229746), doors, front fenders and body vin numbers all match, verified by Porsche certificate of Authenticity. This Porsche is very original and even includes the factory installed Webasto gasoline heater.

This car has recently had thousands of dollars worth of engine work done including complete top end and and extensive carburetor rebuild. Most If not all of the fuel and ignition parts are new including the gas tank and a Hardi fuel pump. The engine in the car is a 70-71 911t bottom end with all the 2.0 parts from the original engine rebuilt and installed including the sand cast valve and chain housings, fan and fan housings etc. The original 66 “solex” cams were used with 1967, 911S pistons. All of the engine tin and the heater boxes were powder coated. My mechanic installed 930 chain tensioners and chain locks. The engine was resealed and doesn’t leak oil. The original engine case was out of round, and may need a line bore or repair and it is of course included in the sale.

Mechanically this car is ready to drive and enjoy. The brakes were checked and the brake lines and fluid replaced. The transmission and clutch work great, there is a small leak from the transmission it appears to need a seal for the speedometer drive gear. Every light and accessory works except for the radio, I didn’t test the gasoline heater and the windshield wash bottle is not hooked up. When I got this car the battery was in a plastic marine battery holder (probably why the battery area is so nice). I have taken it back to original with correct battery trays and hold down strap. I also installed a Hella battery cut of switch near the battery so the battery stays charged when in storage or when it is shipped.

This car is in very good cosmetic condition. The original color was light ivory and years ago it was painted black. They did a nice job on the paint but the paint job has flaws mostly due to its age, it is a nice driver not a concourse car. I had the front bumper, rear bumpers, engine lid and license panel repainted and I touched up chips and scratches on the rest of the body then I polished the car. The chrome trim and interior including the wood dash and steering wheel are very nice. The headliner is nicely done but it is black not white. The carpet is nice and nicely installed but I do not believe it is the “correct” early 911 material. The seats are 1968 era which have provision for headrests, 1966 seats did not. The wheels are correct 4.5x15 chromed steel but they are not date matched to the car. The spare tire is included but the tool kit is missing.

This car is a super solid and is amazingly rust and accident free. Every inch of this car has been gone over including the wheel wells and all areas under the car. The wheel well areas and floor pans have been cleaned, wire wheeled and missing or damaged undercoating areas have been painted with satin black rustoleum paint then the under coating touched up. I’ve included before and after pictures on the online photo album. The front trunk area has also been cleaned, only minor areas needed touching up. The battery and front suspension pan area are about as nice and rust free as they come and appear to be factory original. I also removed, cleaned up and correctly resealed the front fenders.

This car is a good investment. The June 2012 issue of Porsche Panorama on page 34 puts the value of the 1966, 911 in good driver condition at $75,000. The early 911, especially the wood dash, wood steering wheel 1966 and earlier cars are hot and going up in value fast right now. Get one before it is too late!

Why am I selling? I already have one early 911 and I don’t need two. I bought this car about a year ago to fix up and sell. The car is done to my satisfaction and it is time for someone else to enjoy it."
