    Shiner Tour October 6, 2012

Save the date. We have been invited to join the 912 group for a tour of the Shiner Brewery and then a taste of some local craft beers. What a great way to kick-off the cooler weather and the start of our "driving season". Hope to see some of you there!

Come join the Lone Star 912s on Saturday, October 6, 2012 for an Octoberfest Brewer Tour of the Shiner Brewery (http://shiner.com/mobile/home.php) and the Texas Craft Beer Festival (http://www.texascraftbrewersfestival.org). Here's the planned itinerary:

9:30 am - Meet in the Shiner parking lot for donuts and juice

10:00 am - Tour the Shiner brewery.

11:00 am - Drive from Shiner to Bastrop

12:30 pm - Lunch at Maxine's on Main or another Bastrop restaurant

1:30 pm - Follow Colorado river toward Austin

2:30 pm - Arrive at Fiesta Gardens for Texas Craft Beer Festival. Enjoy. End of tour.

Shiner is not usually open on Saturdays, but they've made an exception for us and the Southern Cruisers. I hope we can make it worth their while. The Texas Craft Beer Festival is the largest event of its kind in Texas and should be tasty and informative.

We need to give a head count to Shiner by September 6, so RSVP ASAP if you are interested in going to Mike Vriesenga by email at

I'm bringing my 356 down. Anyone know how many cars are coming for this?
