    Fleebay Engine: 1968 Porsche 911S Engine 901/02 Weber IDS 40 Carbs 911 S Motor

    A non-motormeister 68 engine, engine# 4080451. My apologies if it has previously been listed or if inappropriate, came up on a search for information, I have no relation to the seller.

    I thought the 68S was the first MFI engine, no?

    I could swear Randy Stenson's 68S Euro is CDI...guess I'm wrong.

    Chuck,
    The 1969 model year was the first year that the porsche 911S (and 911E) introduced street cars with MFI. However, the porsche 1969 model year started in august 1968. Any car built in the fall of 1968 and delivered and titled before december 31 1968, is a 1968 car. Most of the those 1968 911S and 911E cars would be found in europe since delivery to the USA would have taken at least 3-4 months and more than likely would have been first delvered and titled in 1969.

    Bill, Randy has Barry Williams 68S that is certainly a carb'd car. Chuck knows this car well, and many of us can recall seeing it on the cover of the European Car issue Feb 1996 along with Craig Stevenson's Sahara Beige 67S. RIP to both of those previous members... man I am getting old!

    I have a 68S with carbs. There was no factory importation of US 68 911S's because of emission issues, so they made the 911L fornthat year. All 68s's in the us were imported from ROW later.
