    For Sale - 1968 911 Sportomatic

Posting this here before taking it to Ebay.

This car was used for auto-crosses and was well loved for many years. Sadly, the last owner got sick and left the car outside for at least seven years. It ran when parked, but does not now. The engine cranks over, but doesn't fire and I haven't taken the time to diagnose it. It has what appears to be brand new SSI heat exchangers.

It was originally Irish Green. It is a Sportomatic and is very complete and unmolested. It is however a full restoration project. The body has a fair amount of rust, but isn't totally consumed. The front suspension pan will need replaced. The area under the smugglers box is rusty, but surprisingly, the floors dont look too bad. All five date matching steel wheels are there.

The interior is really nice. The one-year only 68 door panels are in excellent shape. The elastic on the door pockets gave up, but otherwise they are nice. The dash has some cracks. Steering wheel is nice with a nice hockey puck. The green tinted glass is in good condition. In the trunk area, all of the wiring is intact and unmolested. Original radio is still in the dash.

Happy to answer questions or take more photos.

One thing nice about sportomatics is that all sporto's come with ventilated brakes. So Curt--score!

Think of it as paying forward... thirteen minutes from first notice to pending sale has to be a record for a Sporto, Cornpanzer!

Congrats Curt, hope you decide to keep it 2-pedal. Sure looks like a good candidate for a straight resto.
