Long hood project - Back on track

Had a short break while I finished a few other project, now back to my long hood project.

Goal is an R type hot rod, dual use street and track car.

Reminder of the start, decent tub project, blasted and turbo flared.

Started laying out the fender operation tonight. Marked the trim areas on the tub. I need to keep the rear light opening from the earlier car, as the 75 brake light opening is a different stamping.

Outer rockers will be changed too, pass side has a big welded cut in it.

Drivers side will probably take a more traditional flare type cut.

    And a rocker

Rocker and rest of the pass fender came off finally. Inner rockers is a bit crusty, so I'll go ahead and replace it while it's open.

Took more rust off today, and found more. Having fun now.

    New stuff to go back

Trimmed the fender to fit today. Another few dozen spot welds cut out.

    Fit the new inner rocker.

Built a few patches at parts from scratch.

    Test fit the outer rocker.

Where did you get that body cart? I need one like that badly.
    Thanks,

Thanks Chad, the cart is built from roll bar tube and casters for scaffolding I had left over. The car sits on the torsion tube and the front crossmember bolts. Center section unbolts for storage.

Started aligning the front fender and door to check the rocker parts. I'm using some fenders and doors from a 75 I have to work with. Not perfect, but straight.

    Door gap needs more space.

Needs to be perfect before I secure the rocker.
