WTB: 917 935 962 Warning Lamps Idiot Lights AMBER YELLOW ORANGE

Looking for the AMBER or Light YELLOW and the ORANGE warning lamps, always found in all 917's, also used by the 962's and some 935's.

Please see the following two photos...

    917 Thompson - Warning Lights - Photo 04.jpg

...from some of the many photos I took while Carl Thompson was building "The Last New 917K".

Many years ago, I was fortunate to locate the RED and the GREEN warning lamps. It would be nice
to complete the set with the two missing colors so I can install them in the dash of my 914-6 GT.

No idea on what the bulbs and bulb holders look like, unfortunately every lamp I've seen is always tucked away in the dash of the race car.

Can someone post a photo of the bulbs and holders???

Here are a couple of photos of Bob Gagnon's 914-6 GT using the very same warning lights in his dash, very cool...

I realize these are not warning lights a factory 914-6 GT ever used, but I have them, why not use them.

Again, if you know anyone that has the lamps or can assist to locate them, I would be forever greteful.

    Thank you!

I was told these were "real" RSR warning lights....maybe not?
Yours look very different from mine.

Wishing you all the luck in picking up your last warning light.
Never have seen any that looks like those that you are trying to locate...

Thank you for the good wishes, I don't think most have a good idea of how difficult to find these warning lamps really is.

Next time you have an opportunity to take a closer look at the dash of most 70's Porsche race cars, ANY 917K, 917-30, most 908's, some 935's and just about all 962's I've seen, you'll recognize these lamps and will wonder how you missed them in the first place.

I am sure the exact light you are searching for....
Is squirreled away in a Swiss chalet somewhere up in the Jungfraujoch region.

Have you checked with either Canepa or Gunnar?
I would think if anyone could track these down...they could

Best of luck my friend in your search.

Hello Olivier, There are no brand markings of any kind that I can see with or without my glasses and also wondered the same myself, HELLA, BOSCH??? I'm almost sure either one of those two provided those lamps for Porsche, I don't think it was Lucas...

When you find some time on the 906 wiring schematic, no hurry on my part. thanks again Olvier.

PS: Very spartan dash on that 934, only what you need, in your face.

906/904/910 are definytally hella ... But those??? never seen.

Just a hint: type kontrollleuchten in ebay.de, and check as often as you can...

Porsche used off the shelf bits for all those parts..; unfortunattely very hard to find today.
Another chance (never got one myself unfortunatelly!) find an old catalog from that era...

You can also try to contact Dale Miller owner of Miller Historics. But it seems that this business is no more active...

Diagram is on my "to do list" only on page 452!

    Olivier.

Hi Christian and thank you for the post. I did Google the names and found the RAFI company, also saw some current technology indicator lamps
that have some strong similarities to the lamps I'm looking for, see photos below.

Good call Christian, so it was probably neither HELLA or BOSCH that may have provided these lamps to Porsche in the early days.
