Thread: WTB: 917 935 962 Warning Lamps Idiot Lights AMBER YELLOW ORANGE

I just realized that one of my clients has these in his 73E. I've known the car for about 10-12 years and I never put two and two together ... you could say they've been hiding in plain sight.

Does this car have something special? Or is that the owner who added them?

The car was purchased by one of my clients back in 2004ish. He bought it from a guy who bought it from a Porsche mechanic. I think the mechanic is the one who installed the lights waaaaaaaaaaay back in the day when it was being used as a club racer. My client then used the car as a club racer for a few years before he parked it to focus on 964s and GT3s. He then sold it back to the guy he bought it from who had it for a while, then sold it back to my client who then sold it to another guy ... also my client.

But it's just a 73E that got turned into a club racer way back in the day by a Porsche mechanic who probably had a stash of oddball parts ... like 917/956/962 warning lights.

    WHAT a headache!

Sold to, sold back, sold back back...

You should offer your customer to remove those "horribles non original dash lights" for free...

These look like the warning globes used in a late 60's Rolls Royce Silver Shadow, still hard to find but possibly another avenue to chase.

Did anyone find a source these yet?

    Thanks,

    Hi,
this threat is already quite old but I might have a source to get some of these lamps. I will get 3 of them probably next week for myself and will post a picture of them.

So if anyone is interested please let me know and I'll try to help you out on this. I know how hard it is to find them while I'm looking for them about 1,5 years.
