I have a Signal Yellow '73 T. The data plate on the car says color code 114. The COA says Signal Yellow/52.
What is the 52 number? Does this mean anything to any of you?
Thanks,
Troos

I'm going to highjack this link for a minute. I'm working on a new book and would love to know the best way to express the color codes. Here's a sample from 1988.
1988 Standard Colors
Targa** Coupe
Guards Red (India Red) 027 G1 V9 G1 G1
Summer Yellow 10W B1 V9 B1 B1
Carmine Red 80F G4 V9 G4 G4
Turquoise 21M M7 V9 M7 M7
Carmel Beige 499 D9 V9 D9 D9
Black 700 A1 V9 A1 A1
Grand Prix White 908 P5 V9 P5 P5
Dark Blue 347 K5 V9 K5 K5
Does this make sense to anyone? is there a better way to do this? This is actually in a chart but I can't seem to do the chart here.

I think 52 is the sales code for signal yellow and 114 is the paint code for signal yellow.
This is the same as on newer vehicles like the 1988 list from Richardnew.
Black paint code is 700.
Sales code is listed as body color/top color, A1/V9 for targa, A1/A1 for coupe.
114 is signal yellow, but the sales code I have is 72

This will not answer OP's question but I am including it as a data point. Photo is of paint plate (Kunstharzlack) for my old 1973 911T Sunroof Coupe. Factory Original 'Signal Yellow'. 65K original miles. Unrestored. Vin #9113100035. Built on first day of production for MY1973 911's - July of 1972.

I like jrbennett's theory, makes logical, good sense. Davep's info muddy's the waters?? Davep, is your's from a '73?

That info came out of my paint code research, and really should apply to 1970 & 1971 when the code was used on the paint badge attached to the body.
This resource is generally helpful:
http://color-online.glasurit.com/
enter PORSCHE for Manufacturer
then enter SIGNALGELB for the color name
WOW, both 52 and 72 come up, and I have no idea why they would change this one color
Anyway 114 is the correct paint number and could have several different codes depending on the year.
What really confuses most people is the code on the COA often does not match the code stamped on the badge, and that is what a person want to confirm.
Unfortunately, there are a lot of codes to be found that Porsche does not seem to know anymore; they were used for "custom" requests, and that was all that was recorded.
If you have one of these then you are often SOL when it comes time to repaint. I've spent years doing research, and it still gives me fits.
