    Newbie asking for some help

Newbie to the forum looking for any and all help.

I'm looking at a 1968 911 L that was restored 12 years ago. The car is numbers matching and has a COA from Porsche. The earliest 911 I have owned is a '75 911 S. This '68 is special to me for one very important reason. According to the COA, the car was built on the exact day I was born!

Richard Sloan at Sloan Cars has the car. I'm having a PPI performed tomorrow. The car was just listed at
Www.sloancars.com so you can view it there.

Please take a look at the car and tell me what you see. Does anything stand out to you that may not be period correct for this model year?

Thank you in advance for your help!

    Brad

My car is 1968, but I'm not an expert...however, you've come to right place IMHO, so I'd let the responses come in, and listen to them.

One question - is that a crack in the dash of a restored car?

The radio is being refurbished. That is a crack in the dash. The restoration was done approximately 12 years ago. Original keys, original owners manual, tool kit etc., come with the car. I have done business with Richard before.

I'm motivated by the fact the car was built on my exact birthdate and I love the SWB cars. Excellence is putting the value of the '68's in the mid 40's to 50K. Compression test and extensive PPI is being done this afternoon. My bigget concern is the fact that I see no records that the motor has been rebuilt. Head studs will be checked during the PPI as well.

Thanks for the replies so far!
