FS 1968 911 Sunroof Coupe Restoration Project

Porsche 911 Sunroof Coupe VIN # 11835201 with original 2.0 liter aluminum case engine and showing 8523 miles so it is really 108523 mileage. The aluminum block in the motor is demanding up to $3k a piece these days. The floor in the car is actually pretty solid as the car spent most of it's life in Augusta Ga. There are rust areas that will need repair under the rear torsion bars and at the battery box area. The left front fender has a rust hole at the top near the cowl. There is a rust hole at the front of the pan near the right front wheel but this car will definitely not need a floor pan. The carbs were previously rebuilt but we have not ran the engine yet as we will need to clean the gas tank and the remainder of the fuel system. Sunroof is an electric roof and there are so few of these early sunroof cars that have a factory installed sunroof. The car has a Nardi wooden steering wheel. The interior appears original to be and is correct for a 1968 car. Has a small fresh air blower that looks factory installed in the smugglers box. The engine turns freely with the spark plugs removed and transmission is the original one to the car. We have looked all around under the car at the inner structure and wheel wells and see no evidence of previous wreck damage so the car has a good straight tub. Good car to make an early and valuable short wheel base car with a sunroof. I Have a full set of pictures and will be glad to email them upon request. First $15,000 takes it.
