    46IDA !!!Help!!!

What does these # tell you? They aren't special 46IDA for 614-6GT or RSR they?

They've got the vent with mesh on top.

    46IDA3C/H9 and 46IDA3C1/D9

It tells you they're 46 Webbers, not what kind of car they were/are used on.

The vent mesh is just that, vent mesh.

    Valuable carbs...

If the Webers have original magnesium inlet manifolds, post a picture - the manifolds were different according to whether they were for a mid-engined application (eg 914/6 GT) or rear engine (eg 911R).

    Those are PMO aluminum manifolds.

46IDA are all pretty special, but not specific to a particular car. 46IDA3C is passenger side and 46IDA3C1 is driver side (on a 911, reverse on 914-6). I don't know if earlier 46s had serial numbers like 40s, but the H9 and D9 are weber date codes.

From a post by Paul Abbot of Performance Oriented over on Pelican:
"The other numbers (like those you have) were manufacturing date codes which were begun by Weber after Porsche no longer needed Weber carbs for their production cars. The Webers used on Porsche production cars had serial numbers enabling them to keep track of chassis, engine and carb matching. This change in serial numbering to date codes occured around late 1971."

The early 46mm Webers for racing used serial numbers, the later versions were alpha numeric. Obviously the throttle lever arms are modified from original and air horns are from who knows where and are retained on the tops with Solex style clips.
