FS Original Milt Minter driving suit

This is a bit of memorabilia that i am helping a friend sell: Milt Minter Simpson racing uniform that he wore when racing in Trans Am with American Racing Associates (Roy Woods Racing) . Maybe not exactly Porsche content, but he was a Porsche race driver

It was given to his friend at the end of his driving with ARA, and this friend's widow can use the funds. Dry cleaned and in the original Martinizing cleaners bag with the receipt ! We are asking $1000 for it

    Milt Minters Coat!...

Holy Cow, Dave...I'll take it...I'm not only too fat, but also totally "not worthy" of wearing it....But I can look at it...and, I had the pleasure of meeting him together with Davey Jordan, Scooter Patrick and all the other super cool guys down on the podium at Dunkels many moons ago...he really was a super cool guy...a few favorite stories are "Donkey Bop" and when he was told by Richie Ginther to slow down and not to win....and he just said "you know what " and won...LOL...he also was asked what, in his mind, was the most useable and practical Porsche...he said the 912.../ Lars...

    Very cool Dave,

So here’s a story… I might have told this before, but can’t find it....

It’s 1970 and me and my buddy Hector are out at Willow Springs Raceway watching an open practice day. We're watching Gary Neuer practicing in his own A/Production big block black Corvette SCCA Regional/National car. He would run in the first 5 in Regionals and mid field in Nationals with the car. Meanwhile in rolls a slant bed Chevy carrier with one of the Roy Woods’ pale yellow ’69 Camaros (that rumor had it was Penske’s former blue cars of the year before). Anyway Milt comes out of the truck already suited up and ready to roll. They un-load the car, light it up, and off he goes. Milt entered the track cold after Gary passed on the front straight flat out in the 7 lt. big block Vette. Buy the time they came around turn 9 (the last turn at Willow before the front straight) Milt was glued to the back of the Vette, and on the front straight Milt, in the 5 lt. sedan, passed the A/P Vette like he was tied to a tree………… and then drove away… on his ‘outs’ lap...

Hector and I looked at each other in shock, we knew Pro-TransAm cars were fast, and we knew old Milt was fast… but we didn’t realize THAT FAST……..

After a few more laps they packed up the car and left... We figured they found out what they needed to know.....

    ........true story.

Milt was probably wearing this suit that day 42 years ago……

Good luck on the sale Dave………

    Hey Lars,

I just remembered our friend John Ryals was working for Roy Woods Racing when Milt was there. We need to ask John if he worked on the #68 Camaro.......
