    setting dwell, unusual question

trying to set dwell on my 72.
how the heck do you get your hands in there to adjust the points!
i do not have overly large mitts.
here's the real question, i disassembled the distributor to clean and refurbish.
the points are at the engine block (frontward) side of the distributor, it would make more sense if they were to the bumper (rearward) side.
it would make the points alot easier to access.
could i have reassembled the dizzy incorrectly?
the car runs fine, or at least it did until i screwed up the gap.
anyone got a picture of their dizzy available?

I think they took your suggestion and made that change in 73.5 and later.

You should be able to get a long flat blade screwdriver into the notch in the points base and adjust by twisting against the little nubs on the distributor point plate. Loosen the mounting screw just enough that you can move it but not so much that it doesn't stay put.

May be easier to just pull the distributor back out and do it. Also dwell isn't super important with CDI. Just set the gap on the wide side of spec (with new points).

+1 Just pull the dist and set, stay on the wide spec. and put some of that Bosch grease on the lobes so you don't have to do it again soon. Then check your timing.

I'll pull the dizzy. Seems the easiest way.
