beautiful posters - did all the TdF posters have water stains - mine has very similar stains, but once framed and on wall, not really significant issue - GLWS they are awesome....
Hello
Nice posters indeed. I happen to have a 1970 "rally marken weltmeister" poster and I was wondering :
- how can I be sure it is an original one and not a reproduction ?
- how realistic is an asking price of 1500 $ for these old posters ?
Regards

hello Kristof;
is your poster is 30 X 40 inches it is probably original. many factory posters have been reproduced, but
most are done in a smaller size. your second question is more complicated. I see posters in this era showing a 917 or other non-street car in the $150 - 250 range. of course at or near the top of the range is the McQueen poster ($5K - 10K) '73RS showroom poster is also very expensive. hard to say what yours may be worth. beauty is in the eye of the beholder ?
Hi
Thnx for the info. The 1970 poster is +/- 16x24 inches, so much smaller. I recently bought it on ebay, together with a 1986 "porsche cup" poster showing the Blaupunkt 956, driven by Klaus Ludwig. This poster is indeed +/- 30x40 inches and has a signature from Klaus Ludwig. I paid 80 euro for the 2 posters, they will look nice in my garage :-).

Tour de France is SOLD!
this shows the same water stain in addition to an ink smear through the ANC in FRANCE. back lighting makes the water stain look worse than it is. $1300 SOLD + shipping

The TdF poster is one of only three to show a 911R. Damaged posters can be restored. I recommend Poster Conservation in Stamford, Conn.; not cheap but the best I've found in 20 years.
...and one of only 2 where the car is actually listed as 911R. I have been working with Zukor Art Conservation for over 15 years and have been more than pleased with the results. (est. on this one = $200-250) they did a terrific job saving a *completely* trashed '57 Swiss GP.
