1968 coupe drivers door Window fit question

I am replacing the Window glass on the drivers side 1968 coupe and am having some problems with the fit.

Is the glass specific to SWB and LWB cars??? I believe we have the glass from SWB car but it is too tight front to back and the top gap is not consistant all the way across.

    Thanks for any info.

If the top gap is inconsistent the glass may not be lined up with the frame properly. That would cause binding.

Does anyone know if there were 2 different size windows for SWB and LBW?

I have this window perfectly lined up in the tracks and it seems too big. I will try replacing the window track felt/rubber next.

    Thanks

A photo would help, but to answer your question regarding SWB V LWB No.

These windows have a lot of adjustment.

    1. There is a specific order to tighten the mounting bolts for the frame, to ensure that it doesn't get twisted.

    2. The bottom of the window itself, where it mounts to the regulator has a single nut on the back side of the support, which needs to be loosened, so that the window, travels in the channel without tilting.

My bet is on # 2. Loosen that off, I think it's 13mm, but it's been awhile.

    Hope that helps

I repositioned the glass into the channel that attaches to the regulator and that seems to have done the trick.
It appears there are differences in the glass channel position and regulators on SWB and LWB.

For anyone interested, I found this info on Pelican:

"I assume you will be getting the early glass without the metal slider attached to the bottom. Note that the SWB sliders are slightly different than the LWB sliders and they also mount to the bottom of the glass in slightly different positions. If you are mounting the sliders (easy to do...they come off your old windows with a little heat and go on the new glass with silicon) be sure to copy the mounting position exactly from your old windows. If you mount them in the wrong position or try to use LWB sliders you will not be able to roll the window all the way up without the regulator plastic pins that fit in the sliders popping out. b.t.w. Unless you are concerned about part numbers and logos both SWB glass and LWB glass will work in a SWB car as long as the proper SWB sliders are used and positioned correctly when mounted. Last...if you are assembling this car from parts that didn't come on the car also note that the window regulators on the LWB cars are slightly different than the regulators on the SWB cars. It can really get confusing because both will bolt into the door. The key is to be sure to not mix and match these parts. SWB sliders and SWB regulators go together and work. LWB sliders and LWB regulators work together. Good luck"

There is also an adjustment nut on the bottom channel to align the glass. If not correctly aligned the the window will bind and not roll up correctly with uneven top gap.

That's what I suggested, but shifting the window in the channel seems to work also
