Looking for Body Shops Near Indiana for 911 Restoration

    Friends,

I'd like to know if there are any recommended body shops in/near Indiana (Indianapolis, specifically) that are experienced in 911 restoration. I would consider a cellette bench a plus because there's some pan work to do. This is a cool car, and I'd really like to have a shop that I can trust to do the work correctly, including replication of spot welds, rather than seam welds.

Needless to say, there is a budget constraint, but I really want to hear from those of you who have direct experience.

Thanks, in advance, for sharing your collective wisdom.

Try Dave Klym @ Fabcar Engineering in Carmel In. 317-872-3664. I think he knows a thing or two about a Porsche.

A good place to start is Bob Farmer with Farmer Automotive in Greenfield. Bob has been in the business for 30+ years with race prep, engine builds etc. Not sure how much on restorations... but worth the call to find out more.

    NOW we're talking!!

the last time i spoke to farmer, his core expertise was engines, but i can always ask. the suggestion in carmel is VERY helpful!

keep 'em coming. i'll drag the 911 to kentucky, ohio, illinois, michigan or wisconsin for the right guy. maybe even minnesota.

    thank you.

Dave Treichel in Wisconsin gets my very highest recommendation. He did phenomenal work on my '69 and I know he's done at least one very highly regarded '73 RS.
