    Preffered front latch panel for a '68: Restoration Design or Dansk?

    Listers,

    Does anyone have an opinion as to whether a Dansk or a Restoration Design front latch panel is a better choice?

    Stoddard is back-ordered on their non OEM front latch panel. I presume it's a Dansk because it's less expensive than the one sold by Restoration Design. Application is for a '68.

    Thanks!

    I have recently fitted a front latch panel for (65-67, without hole for washer bottle)) from Dansk, pleased with the quality and fit.

    Your other option not mentioned is that from Porsche, those are the ones we use.

    Alan;

    For the typical high end restoration that your shop does, I certainly understand the reasoning behind your decision to use the Porsche latch panel which costs over twice as much as the non-Porsche latch panel, available at Stoddard.

    Has your experience been that the lower cost alternatives require that much more work to fit well? Or have you never tried them?

    Hi Neil, I have once fitted the Dansk front slam panel when Porsche went out of stock for a while. We did need to remove the metal lip, Porsche funnily enough call this a "Winkle" and reposition it. The fit was ok. The same goes for the tank surround, Dansk make a 1/2 and full panel which are good value but again I prefer the Porsche panel, but I do understand that funds are also important when undertaking works. Let us know how you get on.

    Regards from across the pond
