    Glass bead blasting

I am working to restore my 69S to as close to original condition as I can get it. To make unfinished parts look new, such as the VIN plate, CDI box, various magnesium pieces, etc, is glass bead blasting my best option or is there some other method I should use?

    Thanks!

    Tim

The clean up method is really part specific.
I had my fan housing glass beaded to remove some old powder coating and it turned out very nice. I would think that glass beading a VIN tag would destroy all of the fine detail.
There are other forms of media blasting that are gentler. I'll let the experts comment on the fine points of each.

I agree with Kent. Each part requires a different approach.
Some blasting, some strip and hand finish etc.
DO NOT bead blast the VIN plate. It is dead soft and it will be destroyed.
CDI box would also not fair well being blasted. IMHO
