    CIS handbook?

    Hello all,

Was there a dedicated glove box handbook for the so called 73 and a half CIS injection T models in the USA? Or at least was there a supplement?

I have a USA/Canada orange backed 73 TES owners manual dated May 73 (well within cis production) which has no mention of cis, only mfi on all three models. I'm surprised.

    Thanks for any help.

    Regards

My 5/73 dated orange handbook has a separate T (CIS) section on page 92. Interesting that yours doesn't...

Thanks for reply. Page 92 in my handbook has nothing to do with the engine type. Weird.
Are you saying yours was the original handbook delivered with your 73 and a half T?

    Lightbulb

My original (dated 12/72) handbook that came with my April build 73S does have the page 92 CIS section and it's fold out CIS diagram.

    Hope this helps

    Chuck

That is very helpful and confirms the above. May I ask if the fold out section of the manual on page 92 simply shows a cross-section of the CIS engine (cut away showing the internals) ? And on the opposite page the same of an MFI engine?

My original USA 911 T-E-S manual Edition 73 printed 2/73 that came with my 2/73 build 73S has nothing about CIS. Even in the technical info on page 106 it lists the T as having "2 triple throat carbs".

Interestingly on the page 90-91-92 fuel injection section, the foldout on page 91 only says (911E, 911 S). It's as if there was an additional/alternate insert for that foldout.

Mike.... sorry, I'm not around a scanner at the moment

Page 92's fold out has the 'Cross Section of Engine (front view) on the left side, and 'Schematic of Porsche Fuel Injection System' a view of the fuel delivery system from tank to engine on the right. Yes it's similar to the MIF fold out however with less information... The MFI section should also have a (side view) of the engine, and MFI pump major component view, from page 88 through 91.

My manual's first page after cover reads:

    Type 911 T-E-S
    4649.23 3.1 M 12/72 Edition 73
    Copyright by Dr.-Ign. h. F. Porsche KG
    Printed in Germany (US-order-no. 42-60,3172-1)
    USA/CANADA

    Hope this helps

I have 2 manuels. The first has an orange cover, photos 1 and 2, and includes the cis sections with fold out.
The first shows USA/ Canada, the second no country shown.
The second, photo 3, which has an olive green cover does not include the cis sections
