I have the original Invoice for my IROC from North Lake Porsche Audi for $26,482.13 . I also have the original Assignment signed by Roger Penske to North Lake and from North Lake to John Tunstall/T&C Racing.

Considering my old IROC just sold at Mecum for $875,000.00 + Commission in August it does sound a bit like a give away

The economic value of "utility" is often overlooked and should always be considered when evaluating profits and losses as they relate to automotive investments. In other words, Raj, the "utility value" of being able to drive such and such s car is worth X in relation to how much I make or lose on a car or motorcycle. It helps the medicine go down, sometimes.

My point in posting the newspaper article was not that the cars were sold for a bargain price. $26K was the price of a new home back then. I just thought it was remarkable that they were 'advertising' the sale of the cars in as-raced condition in the local Sunday paper to whoever happen to stop by with a sack full of cash
