    1973 Gemini Blue 911S on eBay

    No affiliation, no knowledge, etc... Just saw this. Looks pretty nice, but I am curious why the radio was removed during restoration. Strong money with 7 days to go.

    The previous owner who restored the car did not want a radio. I have seen this in all kinds of cars , Porsche, Muscle where an owner restores without the radio. More common that you would think... It's a very nice car.

    It was already put for sale at the auction of Gooding & Co in Amelia Island earlier this year.

    9113300038

    VIN = 9113300038
    Eng# = 6330073
    Trans# = 330275

    The Seller's schtick . . .

    * Genuine S Coupe with Matching-Numbers Engine and Gearbox
    * Rare Factory Delivered Sunroof
    * Chassis No. 9113300038, Engine No. 6330073, Transmission No.330275
    * 2.341 CC SOHC Flat 6 Cylinder Engine With Bosch Mechanical Fuel Injection
    * 5 Speed Type 915 Manual Gearbox
    * 4 Wheel Vented Disc Brakes
    * 4 Wheel Fully Independent Suspension

    . . . In 1972 Porsche introduced what many believe to be one of the great road going variations on the 911 platform – the 2.4 S. This is a very rare and collectable piece of mechanical art. The 1973 911S represent tremendous investment potential as the Porsche marketplace for early 911 models continues to increase in value. At one of the Monterey auctions this year a 73S reportedly brought over $200,000.00. This car being a very early production and the 38th car produced for the S model year adds even further to the collectability.

    Produced during a brief two year period, the 2.4 S featured a high revving, fuel injected flat six engine, a greatly improved type 915 gearbox and countless refinements that made the magnificently engineered 140+ mph sports car a well rounded performer. In all just 1,430 S Coupes were completed for 1973 and considered by many to be the last year of the “early” 911 models.

    One of the first S Coupes produced for the 1973 model year, this 911 is finished in its original striking color of Gemini Blue Metallic over a Black leatherette interior. Beyond its splendid livery this Porsche benefited from the addition of a factory delivered sun roof, a particularly rare and desirable option, prized by contemporary Porsche collectors. Constructed for export, this 2.4 S is one of just 524 coupes originally imported into the US making it exceedingly rare.

    Previously restored this 911S has always been an excellent example. Not much has been needed to maintain the quality of this well taken care of coupe. As expected of a well loved 911 this S still maintains its original matching numbers engine (6330073) and transmission (330275). This car has been driven since its restoration and the odometer shows just less than 15,800 miles but believed to be 115,800. This is a super nice car and though not a 100% concourse car it would not take very much to get there. The restoring owner decided to go with a “radio delete” preferring the symphonic sound of the mechanically inject flat six over a radio.

    I have included photos of the Porsche Certificate of Authenticity. Car also maintains its tool kit and owner’s manual and full sized spare . . .

    I have to watch this one. My '73 is the same color. Mine also has that "rare factory sunroof". I have fewer miles on my car though.
