What Type of Anodized Mouldings do I install??

    Hello,

I have a MY 1969T sportomatic, very early production car number8, its equiped with S Dials & S Calipers which I think are factory installed,
Im confused what mouldings to install because the rocker mouldings are missing.

the front Bumper is the standard thin T type and the rear bumper is the E/S type.... what would you suggest to install as the correct type.

    Appreciate the feedback?

I remember seeing a thread saying cars equipped with S Dials and S Calipers also came with S Exterior trim but im unsure as Ive also read
some Sporto's had S Dials & S Calipers as standard, Ive checked the date on the clock and its 68 so I think the dials are correct and original.

I dont want to waste my money on the wrong type of trim so thought Id ask the forums experts... Part numbers would be a great help...

    thank you,

    Lee

Sounds like a previous owner has been mixing and matching, Porsche didn't build it that way. Are the holes from the rocker moldings filled? the holes would be in different places for wide and narrow decos. What color is the Porsche script on the engine lid? If gold I'd say you use all the 'S' trim.

Yes holes are filled for the rocker moulding, porsche script is silver but the rear deck lid should be a 69 but its been replaced with a 71, I now have the right lid with grill to install, think someone tried to make it look a few years newer as they sprayed the rear grill in matt black paint.

Any other ideas of checking or do you think it's would be the same thin type as the front bumper?

I think most of the 70-71 T's that came originally to US were the "appearance group" with the 5 speed ,S gauges and trim.Is it a 5 speed? S

RHD Sporto for ROW came with the S appearance group, so S brakes and Trim with 5 gauges, and depending on the country delivered front bumpers with the rubber inserts, UK would have them.

All sportomatics came with ventilated brakes. I do not know if that automatically means S calipers. My 68 911L ROW came with standard bumper trim because in Europe a 911L was the mid range 911. Chris

Yes S trim on all bumpers with wide anodize trim, as your sporto has the S appearance package. That's what ROW sportos got. The only difference in your five gauges from an S are obviously the red line on the Tacho, and a color coded temp gauge rather then numerical for oil temp.
