    Wipers park right

My 1970 coupe wipers work fine but park to the right.
Has the motor been changed or has the linkage flopped 180° ?

That is a common (misguided if you ask me) modification to "get them out of the driver's visual field."

What in fact ends up happening is when the wipers park on the off-side, a stream of water then flows up across the windshield. This is why the factory moved the parking location to the driver side in 1968.

Reversal is simple. Wet the windshield, turn on the wipers until they are in front of driver, turn off ignition so they stay there. Then loosen the nut that holds the motor to the blades. Carefully, do not slice your fingers off, turn the ignition back on so the wiper motor parks. Then reconnect the blades.

Once they are back where they belong, check to see that some PO did not bend the blades. Bending them is required when they are parked on the off-side. Get some photos here of correct original blades for a reference.

    And WELCOME to the forum!

Welcome to the dark side Norm. I saw that you sold the GT coupe. Do you still have a 356? I still have the ivory 58 speedster but drive the 900's much more. Welcome! SS#2

    Hi Steve,

I still have a 356 a C coupe Outlaw. In Porsche Tangerine and the 70 911T also in tangerine.
One must always have at least one 356 !

    304065 Thanks,

I suspected that was the case and can change them over soon, looks better and no danger of being in my vision as my head just clears the sunroof as it is.
