    Magnetic decals

Does anyone have any experience with these? http://www.magnagrafik.com/WholeCatalogue.pdf

Are the Porsche side script decals correct for a 1969 911?

Magnetic seems like a good idea since you can change the look of your car when you want to. But, what are the drawbacks?

Magnetic decals can come off at high speed, especially if there is thick paint or filler on top of the metal you are trying to adhere to. They can also scratch paint if used for prolonged periods (or in the rain), as they shift slightly at speed. I've given up on magnetic numbers and use either static cling type for autocross or low tack vinyl for track.

I agree with Randy. I was chairman of the Performance Driving Series competition events for the Porsche Owners Club for two years. The participants are mostly street cars and the magnetic numbers are rarely used anymore. They look great, and work well on slow autocross tracks, but to keep them on at high-speed you need to tape up the leading and trailing edge with painters tape. That really defeats the purpose. Plus, if there is any dirt under them, they scratch.
