The debut of the real RS#406

Following a 5 year restoration we were privileged to see rs406 again. Completed about 24 hours before the Porsche Club of NSW's 2012 Concours, David's car was the deserving winner of the People's Choice Award. In a lifetime around old Porsches this has been one of the most thorough and well researched restorations that I have seen.

The pics following were taken before the concours, as the last minute touches were given to the car. There are still a few things to adjust, but the quality and thoroughness of the restoration are mind blowing. I've also got a new found appreciation for light yellow.

Some better pictures to follow in the coming weeks.

Justin, I'd love to know what tyres David has gone with. They look to be 'stock' which is harder and harder to achieve now!

    John,

I know they are Michelin - but am not sure which ones. I'll leave that to David. I do know they handle well and grip well, as I drove a Carrera 3 with the same type of tyre. Sadly though this size is becoming harder to come by.

GREAT looking car. The RS body lines in Light Yellow are to die for.

Interesting combination of features ... 100L plastic tank, touring interior, rear fog, and a sunroof.

Did this car do circuit time and you guys kept the tank as a hold-over/homage to that period of the car's life?
