question re heater duct through chassis - solution needed

    hi guys ,
well i have a slight issue due to a change of plans for my 72 that i was doing a ST build on. due to one thing and another plus now having 2 r-gruppe style cars i decided to kill the ST plan and head the car straight back to original spec. (911T with S package in Albert blue ) BUT when i did all the body work and as i was running race car spec i removed the heater tubes out of the inner sills . Now that she is heading back i see three opitions unless someone has a bright idea.

    - run no heat
    - run heat into the sills and see how that transfers
    - pull the sills off and reinstall

    or ???????????????

could do , i mean i don't need heat as we live in a temprit climate , but for correctness and look i did think just run the heat as normal and hopefully the sills don't get hot IF someone uses it and the noise is not transferred .

Me neither. The piping that runs inside the sills also contains silencers which keeps engine noise at bay. Since you are going for originality here, I don't see a way around it. JMHO. Brian

Webasto won't fit in a RHD... or is it a left hooker?

John, you can access the tubes "from the other side" inside the cabin... You can see the rivet heads that attach the tube clamps with the carpet pulled away. If you go in this way, you can just cut a 'hatch' to install the new tubes and then stitch it closed again - the welds won't be visible under the carpet.

I don't think "tubeless" will be particularly effective.

Hole doesn't have to be exact. The tubes just push on... do one end, then flex the tube and push on the other end, just wear gloves so you don't cut up your hands in the process
