    Transmission Oil

Have never changed the oil (gear lube) in my transmission -- what brand/viscosity is recommended? Thanks, Bob

The answer varies with what you have.

    For steel synchro boxes (901, 915, 930) I prefer a dinosaur-based 80/90 ... in some cases even straight 90.

For brass synchro boxes (G-50 and later) I use Redline 75/90NS and, if there's an LSD involved, add Redline friction modifier to suit.

+1 on the Swepco 201 (Blue). My mechanic recently told me that Swepco 210 (Red) is "the same" as Swepco 201 with Swepco ATF added. Anybody care to confirm or contradict this assertion?

Marco, what do you recommend for a 901 box with original LSD? My papers say Shell S 17 47 A but that doesn't seem to exist anymore. Anything that corresponds? Thanks!
