    More Best of France & Italy, 2012 . . .

    Another 1900?

Better --- 'Touring' badge on the bupkus . . . and a bit more put-together-looking, clearly a street car, but . . . biggish. Piccolo pipes look hopeful. Amazing how some of this bright-work got built + fitted. Vintage Michelins on chromy wires . . . . nice

Hard to take some o' these pictures --- sun was just blinding . . . tough to see/frame these shots, half were junk

Astonishing, isn't it !!

    More Best of France & Italy, 2012 . . .

    I like this car . . .

Even more? --- I like the idea of this car

No placard/explanation/legal representation at a hand, but . . . . this looks very smart. Looks like someone took an (old?) Alfa-Romeo 6-cyl . . . then built themselves a whole car around it! Maybe dodge (just) a few 'regulatory issues' as they went? I'm not familiar w/ Alfa-Romeo motors, but I don't remember them building anything really memorable inline-6-cylinder-wise, post-War. (Do I care?) No problem, there --- this Little Beastie looks more racy than racer, anyway

    Which could be the point?

When I think of how much money/effort/creativity/emotion goes into bringing some old hulk back to life . . . how much of a jump is it to just --- build a whole frickin' car! If anyone asks me 'where do you think The Car Hobby's heading?,' I'd say . . . . looky here

Pedigree-schmedigree. Why spend a ton o' money trying to buy what everybody else is chasing? Just spend a coupla hundred pounds --- on yer very own Kustom Kar

Interesting looking. Some nice lines --- especially along the fender-tops. Nice evocative nose, too. Reminds me (a LOT) of a D-type. Looks are subjective, but . . . . this rig looks totally custom, has no emission-controls (or head-restraints, outside door handles, dash + interior, shoulder belts, cup-holders, SRS, CC, ICE, ESP, or partridges in any pear trees) . . . but does have --- valid CA tags, so, all I can say is . . . 'Houston --- we have lift-off'

    Keys, please?

Would love to hear The Story, here

    More Best of France & Italy, 2012 . . .

    Boat-tail’ Duetto

Never got into these. Odd, dachshund-like proportions, mediocre power . . . reputation for mechanical mischief. And rusting like the dickens. People always ask me if I remember ‘The Graduate

For this? No. I remember Dustin Hoffman . . . Short. Weird. Really poor taste in/choice o’/luck w/ women

For cars? --- I remember Bullit. Mustangs. Chargers. Shotguns. Stevo. And Jaqueline Bisset

Anyway . . . actually drove one o’ these, once. In college, taking this ‘Dance Major’ home in her Papa’s pride + joy. Just a few years old, the car looked tidy enough, but I swear --- every synchro in that ‘box was already toast. Had to double-clutch every miserable/whiny-a$$’ gear --- up-and-down/in-and-out . . . all the way to Her Place. Talk about foreplay. Woulda been fun if the car had any poke (didn’t). . . or if I got anywhere w/ said Dance Major (ditto)

Anyway, nice enough little cars, I suppose. And nothing a more cut-down/laid-back windshield --- and another hundred horsepower . . . couldn't improve

Not sure about that wine bottle . . . ‘Alfahol’?

    Not exactly beautiful, more like . . . cute. Like a bunny-wabbit

Used to see one o' these, parked out in front of this old beat-up gas-station, 'round the corner. Sat there --- in the exact same spot . . . for years. Started out kinda copper-colored. Then dirt + dust clouded the windows. Tires went flat. Paint fell off. Then the primer. I could see metal when I walked by

    Never rusted, though

    'Weird' . . . I thought

Always wanted to buy that thing --- 'Sprint,' it said . . . fix it up, then just putt-putt around in something that small --- gotta be good on gas, right? . . . just as soon as I got a job. And a driver's license

One day --- poof! Nothing but some trash + weeds left where it'd sat

    So, every time I see one . . .

Prolly slower than snot, but still . . . all the interesting shapes/contours/folds/pleats. Car'd be murder to straighten-out. Fast-back w/ jet-fighter rear glass --- and little mini-tail-fins? Get down!

    Wonder if I'd even fit?

    OK, OK --- finally Ferrari . . .

250 Pininfarina Cab . . . Series Something-or-another --- but who cares? At least it has twelve cylinders. Guys who buy these prolly waited too long to get into a 275 . . . or are still grousing about their last 'belt-service' on that 430 Spider they took a bath in. So? Let's just restore The Living Daylights outta something that's going up in value, doesn't have any nasty 'belts' . . . and doesn't really --- you know? . . . move. The fastest this kinda thing ever goes is prolly between owners --- on a flatbed

    Gloves? --- how dashing

    What's Italian for Thunderbird?

Nice seats. And the color! --- say . . . have you recently had a belt-service?
