Only one original wheel remains. Has random wheels now. Your guess is as good as mine as to what a Tangerine S Targa will bring at Monterey next Summer, but I'm pretty sure buying one now is better than money in the bank.

Hey! That's my listing. I am the silver tongued wordsmith, apparently. I did a search on available '69 S cars before pegging a price. I think the days of finding a low mileage, no-drama early S for less than $70K are gone. Unless, of course, they have been crashed, rusted or color-changed.

I didn't see anything out-of-line with the initial offer. It always depends on who's out there ready to buy, the level of need on the part of the seller to sell and the pending negotiations. Good luck with your sale.

I love awkward moments. Time to back pedal Russ...

In these changing times I think one must establish an asking price by guessing then sitting back and listen to what qualified buyers say. I'm quite sure ultimately the opinion of the peanut gallery doesn't matter as much as we would like to think. And I of course include myself as one of said nuts.

IMHO..looking at that Targa, I would be very leary of an odometer reading.

I don't pay too much attention to odometer readings unless there is absolute proof of the mileage. You really have to document that sort of thing before sticking your neck out claiming it to be original. It's just a law suit looking for a courtroom. TMU is safer. If the car's been maintained
mileage doesn't mean a lot. I've seen 30,000 mile cars that were turds and 200,000 mile cars that were cherries. Cherries taste better from what I hear.
