Reinstalling fenders on my 73 E. Do I need to use any type of adhesive where the fender bolts up to the unibody ? what brand of adhesive ?

The bolts should be tightened and torqued in a specific sequence. Sorry I don't have that available. Maybe another member does.

I guess I am asking the wrong question.
I scraped some sealer of the unibody. This is where the fender mates to the car. What is that sealer ?

There is a body putty (sometimes called dum-dum) you can get at any pro auto paint store. It comes in 'ropes.' You use that to seal along the flange between tub and fender before tightening the bolts. Be aware, your fender is like a giant spring. It may take several tries before you get it to lay in place without flaring the wheel opening or altering the way it lays against the door...

    - Thanks for finding that. Would it be possible to get a better image, the sequence numbers are a little hard to see ....

what is a terostat strip ?

Terostat is a soft non-setting Butyl Rubber Strip.

The size called up on the PET is 25 x 2mm thick. 000.043.129.00

When you biy it from Porsche a 5m roll in the UK costs about $100+ Sales tax and when it arrives it is 20 x 2mm.

    Loctite-Henckle in the UK no longer sell 25 x 2 and only offer a 20 x 1.5 which is a bit thin.

3M make a 20 x 2mm for about $30 for 20m and this works well although some people have complained.

We have used the 3M strip for around 4 years now and it seems OK
