That one should work. Soud state pump are cheap at local auto shops. Most will work on webers. 4 psi min. I switch my out and works good. I'm running 40 Ida on a 3.0 Carrera motor"

As you say this is a Pierberg Universal Fuel Pump - Part Number 7.21440.51.0

Its nominal rating is 95 litres/hour at 0.1 bar (1.45psi)

Its maximum suction head is 500mm.

With a static pressure of 0.27bar (4psi) its delivery will fall to zero depending on the individual pump as the manufacturing tolerance could mean that the 'Zero' delivery pressure could be as high as 0.38 bar. (5.5psi)

Fuel line restirctions and drag could be critical with this pump and its delivery could be marginal and when there is high instantanoeous demand you could start emptying float bowls which in turn could cause slight fuel starvation - not a great idea.

There is another version of this pump 7.21440.53.0 which has a flow of 100 litres/hr at 0.15 bar (2.2psi) and a zero delivery Static Pressure of 6.5psi which would be safer.

Their normal recommended application is as a replacement for mechanical diaphragm fuel pumps such as on a Beetle and I have seen them used in pairs to replace the cam driven Diaphragm Re-Circulating Pumps with Solex Carbs.

I would not run the 7.21440.51.0 pump on a 2.7 that was going to be driven enthusiatically as it is a bit close to the mark if the fiuel line needs 3 psi to overcome drag as delivery would fall to around 40 litres/hour and would be cautious about a '53'.

I would skip the Pierburg and get a Carter, $55 USD vs. $180 and the carter even includes a filter. Part nr. 60504, 4psi

Yet another option is the Airtex #E8337, 9PSI - 30GPH in conjunction with the PMO fuel pressure regulator. It's a shorter pump and fits nicely in the space behind the front cross member.
