SSI Headers Sold, going to EU

    Hello Guys,

A couple of weeks ago i talked to someone who told me that the SSI company, ( John ) sold it to Danks in Denmark. I am wondering how is it going to affect the US market ?
I also know that they are going to start making the 914 headers available too, this is really nice.

Dansk is a great company. I am grateful they produce much of what they do. Hopefully the SSI option will remain on the table as a cost-effective alternative ... who really needs that third hole for the barrel nut?

Curious how this will pan out...
Will both products be sold separate in the future?
Or will SSI build all H/E's for Dansk from now on?
    Or will SSI just disappear?

I was told that Dansk purchased all of SSI's inventory and all of their tooling. It may already be in Denmark. This news came from a pretty reliable source.

Tooling and inventory is in Denamrk already. They should be comming out for sale in the next month or so.
The will be selling both items, and def will not make the SSI brand disapear.
My guess though is that their will be a price increase, hence the exchange. At the end of the day, it will be very good for the EU customers, since most everyone wanted the SSI,s but the shipping and some times the availability was not there.
I also know that they will produce the 914 items, wich is very good, since the market for these items have gone up, and more popular.
Dansk is a great company and iam shure that Martin will not disapoint his customers.

My impression has been that the Dansk heat exchangers were not as nice as the SSI's. What will happen to the SSI's?

they aren't. I've dealt with both and IMHO the SSI's are FAR superior to anything else out there. I can only hope that the quality of the SSI's does not change, as a price increase ( if there is one ) will immediately turn off many, as well as the increase in shipping costs

Dansk is more of a OEM replacement, in SS
SSI's were a refined repo of the 911 heater box /headers.. from the early days.

There is room for both, its a matter of $$

It will be interesting to see how it pans out..

John Daniels is a smart guy. I've talked with him a few times over the years and he is no fool. I also know he has contemplated this for a while.
The handwriting was on the wall the last time we talked and my read was it was only a matter of time and a willing buyer.
The fact that the tax on gains from selling a business is about to take off is a good reason to sell out.
One more nail in the coffin is that CA is the most anti-business state in the nation. One almost needs general counsel on staff to run a hot dog stand.
